User Review( votes)
iStuDent is an app designed by a student at Kings College, London. The aim of the app is to provide the user with a huge bank of questions to go through for revision. The app is only available for iOS in both a Lite (free) and a paid version for £1.49.
The app is extremely simple to use and features over 1000 different questions for you to try. There are simple MCQs, true/false questions and also some picture questions. It tries to reduce the dullness of revision by adding the challenge of having ‘lives’, which you lose every time you get a question wrong. You can then record your high scores.
There are a huge range of categories including conservative dentistry, periodontology and the basics of dentistry. As well as selecting the category, you can also use the option to load up random questions to keep you on your toes in all disciplines! Additionally, there is a nice little feature of a countdown clock to your exams – just in case you forget!
Generally, the app is very easy to use. The images that are used are of a high quality. The only criticism would be with the background images and text colours that are used – they can sometimes be a little distracting or difficult to read. It’s a very small criticism and something that can easily be improved to build on a quality app.
There’s always the option to report incorrect questions or suggest new questions if you want to.
Overall, iStuDent MCQ is a very good quality app in terms of content, covering a huge spectrum. It’s an extremely useful app that I would highly recommend students to download and use! Despite slight issues with the layout and design, these are small things that are made up for by the quality of the question bank!
